Gyu-Kaku

Gyu-Kaku buffet weeks ago with my lovely FYP mates.

Hardly see Anna in a dress, she's wearing a matching pair of heels too. So cute right.

Almond longan pudding. yucks. a 5-year-old boy can buy the instant mix and prepare one for himself. It's diluted and too firm for a pudding, they should rename it as Almond longan jelly instead.

AAHHH! this is the best food item of the night. Milk pudding with caramel sauce and peanut powder. The milk pudding was runny and soft, sweetness isn't over powering. Me likey, so did Anna and Ting Ting. I wish I had more cus on the ala carte menu, this awesome dessert costs like $6.50! RIP-OFF

Gyu tongue. I remember the last time I had Gyu tongue at Gyu-kaku, the pieces were thicker, so it felt like I was kissing and biting someone's tongue. Haha, gross factor:4/5. But it's nice. Somehow, the beef tongue carries mutton flavour.

Big fat succulent and crunchy prawns, they even shelled the prawns for us. That is my favourite part! Sotong ring was chewy. In fact everything was chewy that night. We finished the dinner with tired jaws and bloated tummy.

My memory is getting worse guys, I cannot recall what are the names of each parts. The orders came in one shot, and the waiter didn't explain to us which is which part. But of course, the piece which most marbled with fats was the winner!

Burnt veggies. No skill, no skill.

The restaurant's interior. We should have another Japanese food trip soon!

All in all, what makes the meal complete is the company you are with. I was satisfied with dinner because I was surrounded by nice people who bring genuine laughter and beautiful smiles to my life. Food wise, it wasn't as perfect as I thought it would be, and the hefty price tag of the buffet isn't worth my dollars and cents. With same amount of money, I could have savoured better food elsewhere. Still it is the experience that counts (:
